Operating Reality Check

The read on your organization the dashboards don’t show.

What this measures

Your operating reality across the six dimensions above — what is actually true of the organization today, seen from where you sit, before money is invested in new tools.

How it works

46 short statements, about 10 minutes. Mark the ones that are genuinely true today — or mostly in place. There are no right answers, and a practice doesn’t have to be perfect to count.

What you get at the end

An immediate picture of where you stand: an overall operating state, your read across all six dimensions, and what it means — on screen the moment you submit. Barbara then compiles the full readout, clustering your answers through the WISE methodology — because getting the most from any technology investment takes people, operations, and technology in balance.

What happens to your answers in a team round

Individual responses are compiled and anonymized within your organization’s round — never mixed with anyone else’s. The team readout shows the shared picture: where views align, and where the same organization looks different depending on where you sit. Never any one person’s answers, and nothing you mark is used to evaluate you.

Every team engagement also includes a confidential 15-minute conversation with each participant — because the magic lies in understanding the in-between: the why behind the marks.

One-time — or quarter over quarter

Run once, it’s an honest pulse check. Run each quarter it becomes an early warning system: the same ten minutes each round, and the curve shows which foundations are strengthening and which are quietly slipping as the organization grows.

Barbara Wittmann
Who’s behind this

Barbara Wittmann has spent two decades at the intersection of people and technology — inside SAP on Hasso Plattner’s innovation team, in the PMO and implementation trenches of large enterprise programs, and in the CIO chair. Her conviction as founder of Digital Wisdom Collective: technology is only fully leveraged when people and operations are aligned around it. This is the read she uses to see where an organization actually stands before money is invested in new tools — no vendor to sell, no agenda beyond helping you get the most from that investment.
